The League of Friends of Louth Hospital are grateful for the recent boost in funds which has also come in from other recent donations and legacies given to them.

It has enabled the purchase of several new items, including: An ultra-sound bladder scanner (£6,500) and an ECG machine (£4,038), which will be used in the medical wards, as well as an automated lensmeter costing £2,647 which will be used in the out-patients eye clinic department.

Also bought were a number of high-backed chairs (£348) for use in the physiotheraphy waiting room and finally a 40-inch LED TV with built in DVD recorder and accessories (£341). This will be used in the nurses’ training suite.

Barbara Boobyer, chairman of the Louth League of Friends, said: “The League’s thanks go to our many customers at our coffee shop in out-patients and trolley service to the wards and for all of the donations and legacies which we have recently received which allow us to purchase these much needed items for the wards and departments in our hospital.”
