Exploratory fracking licenses around Crowle, Amcotts, Belton, Luddington, Althorpe, West Butterwick and Broughton have been granted, and there is widespread concern that this will lead to full scale hydraulic fracturing to extract shale gas on an industrial level.

Concerns vary from environmental worries over increased fossil fuel use, to doubts over the safety of the process and the impact of increased traffic, noise and pollution in rural areas.

The film “The Truth Behind The Dash For Gas” will be shown at Crowle Community Hall at 7.30pm on Monday, March 23, with a short discussion to follow the screening.
