With each driver contesting three races plus a qualifying session the Metheringham-based team was faced with some hard work but they were up for the challenge and soon had the karts prepared to their usual high standard.

The MSA 250 class was the first to take to the track and Layton put in a stunning lap to secure pole for race one. As the lights went out, Layton got a great start and led the field for the majority of the 14 laps but with the complication of back markers, the final few laps were incredibly close, although Jack managed to stay cool and work his way through to secure the win.

Barry Weston retired from race one with a puncture and then finished one place behind Hatfield in the second event. Contact at Redgate put him out of the third race.

Ignition problems forced two race retirements by Mark Newton, but he made amends in the final event, battling his way through the field to finish 14th, and fourth in the Honda Cup.
