Appeal to help rescue animals

Animal-lovers are being invited to give their time and skills to help dozens of rescued creatures.

Beasts including racoons, foxes, skunks, snakes, a lynx, and even a crocodile have been taken in by wild animal expert Jamie Mintram after many were neglected, subjected to cruelty, or kept in cramped conditions.

Now Jamie and his family are giving the creatures the space they deserve by housing them at the former Stickney Farm Park. Having been bred in captivity and not native to the UK, the animals could not simply be released into the wild, he explained.

The family now need to prepare the animals’ new environment as soon as possible and are seeking volunteers to help them. Painters, landscapers, plumbers, electricians, and even artists who could paint a mural would all be welcome.

The couple plan to re-open the site, in West Fen Lane, Stickney, later this year as Ark Wildlife Park, which would be the UK’s only zoo made up entirely of rescue animals.

If you can help, call the family on 07546 295977/07957 500704.
