Ark Wildlife Park, a Lincolnshire lifeline for rescued animals, says its ability to help more animals is under threat, forcing it to launch an appeal for £3.500.

Run by Jamie Mintram and a team of zookeepers and volunteers, the park in Stickney has spent more than 10 years providing permanent, loving homes to creatures rescued from the exotic pet trade or poor and illegal conditions.

From meerkats and servals to caiman, raccoons, and foxes, many of Ark’s residents cannot return to the wild and rely entirely on professional, round-the-clock care.

However, the park is now appealing for more support as its services become even more needed – and has launched a GoFundMe appeal to reach out to the public.

“Every new rescue requires specialist enclosures, veterinary care, and round-the-clock attention,” Jamie exlained. “Without extra support, we may have to turn animals away.”

The park has twice won a BBC Make a Difference Award in the Animal Welfare category for its vital work rescuing and protecting vulnerable animals.

But rising costs and falling tourism have put Ark’s future at risk just as demand for its rescue services reaches record levels.

Jamie added: “We’re being asked to help more animals than ever, at the same time that the cost of living crisis has hit tourism hard. The park’s future to rescue animals is at risk.”

The ARK exotic animal sanctuary needs £3,500 to continue rescuing animals.

Every new rescue requires purpose-built enclosures, specialist diets, veterinary treatment, and dedicated staff time. Without urgent support, Ark may be forced to turn animals away.
