Researcher of military graves in Sleaford Cemetery set to give tours
A keen historian has written a booklet on the stories behind the local servicemen and women laid to rest in a Sleaford graveyard and is set to give tours outlining their background on Remembrance Sunday.
John Dale, who is a member of Sleaford Civic Trust, has compiled Stories Behind The Stones – a guide to the military graves in Sleaford Cemetery.
Free copies are available at Sleaford Museum, Sleaford Town Council office in Navigation Yard and at Sleaford Cemetery. A PDF copy of this booklet can also be requested by contacting [email protected]
John particularly wanted to thank Sleaford Town Council which has kindly supported and funded the printing of the booklet.

He said: “On Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8, I am giving walking tours around the war graves at the cemetery, talking about stories behind each one.
"We will start at the war memorial near the car parking area and then see how it goes.
"I already have a number of people interested in coming along.”
He will be giving two tours each day, at 12noon and 1.30pm. People are welcome to simply turn up if interested.
