They can submit work on any topic, in poetry or prose, as many times as they want, up to a limit of 500 words.

Entrants will be divided between those of a primary school age and those of a secondary school age.

For each age group, there will be a £50 first prize and runners-up prizes.

Entries can be dropped off entries at Waterstones, in Wide Bargate, Boston, or at Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre, in Spain Lane, Boston; posted to Pete Read, 24 Blackthorn Lane, Boston, PE21 9BG; or emailed to [email protected]

The closing date is noon on December 19.

Submissions should be clearly marked with the entrant’s name, age, and contact details (or of their parents/guardians if they are under 16).

It is hoped that the winners and best runners-up will receive their prizes and hear their stories read by local actors at a celebration event in January.
