Council supports businesses in Woodhall Spa

As temperatures soared and visitors return to Woodhall Spa, businesses are benefiting from a European Regional Development Fund Grant to provide equipment to help keep them, their staff, and their customers safe as they reopen during the Covid – 19 outbreak.

East Lindsey District Council has been instrumental in organising the grant from the ERDF and have devolved down to the parish council the responsibility to consult with local businesses to establish what their requirements are and to supply equipment to meet those needs.

Famous for its individual and independent range of shops, Woodhall Spa’s businesses have individual needs and the parish council has made sure items made available to them are as unique as they are.

Parish clerk, Joann Greer said: “Items such as hand sanitisers dispensers (both internal and external) and gel, disposable masks and gloves, window and floor signage, face shields and even garden planters have been some of the items supplied.

“Sanitisers have also been provided to Jubilee Park for use in the playground and public toilets.”

All the local businesses were contacted and more than 40 of them requested equipment to help them open safely.

Mrs Greer said: “The response from business owners has been incredibly positive; they have welcomed the help in what has been a difficult year for all of us, but especially businesses.

“The parish council will continue to support businesses, residents, and visitors as we all adapt to the new norm.”

She continued: “Social distancing awareness signs have also been placed on the pavements to remind both residents and visitors that the threat from Covid-19 is still there.

“We all need to do our bit to keep everyone safe, so please respect the social distancing guidance and face mask wearing requirements so we can all enjoy the magic that makes Woodhall Spa such a fabulous place to be.”
