Have your say on proposed rise in roadworks permit fees
A rise in permit fees is being proposed to ensure the scheme continues to support well-coordinated and efficiently managed roadworks across.
However, Lincolnshire County Council wants your thoughts on what happens next.

The county council says it is consulting on an increase because the operating costs of putting permits in place have increased.
Since the Lincolnshire Permit Scheme (LiPS) was launched in 2016, the price-per-permit has stayed static and, up until recently, the incoming money matched the outgoing costs.
Ash Behan, Traffic Manager at LCC said: “We’re required by statutory legislation to operate a permit scheme and costs are going up, continuing to rise. An increase in permit fees is proposed so that the county council scheme does not continue to run at a loss, which it has done for the previous two financial years.
“To cover the shortfall, LCC has previously used reserves and income from other activities, but this approach can’t continue.
"We have to do something to address the imbalance.
“So, to keep LiPS effective and sustainable for the future, we’re proposing an increase in permit fees.
"This will ensure the scheme continues to support well-coordinated and efficiently managed roadworks across Lincolnshire.”
To make sure everyone’s point of view is heard on the subject, the council has started a Let’s Talk consultation on the matter.
It will run from now until Wednesday, December 10. You can find it at: www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/permit-scheme-fees
