An adaptation of a much-loved Dreamworks animated film is set for the stage in Skegness next week.
Shrek The Musical JR, by The Lisa Jay Stage Institute, is coming to the iconic Embassy Theatre on November 11 and 12.
Based on the Oscar-winning film and the Broadway and West End musical, the show brings the much-loved characters of Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Lord Farquaad to life in a hilarious and heart-warming stage adventure.
“Audiences can expect big songs, colourful characters, plenty of laughs and a powerful message about friendship, acceptance and being proud of who you are,” a promotor for the show said.

“The production will showcase the talent, dedication and creativity of performers from The Lisa Jay Stage Institute, providing young performers with the opportunity to develop their confidence and performance skills while taking to the stage of one of Skegness’s best-known theatres.”
“We are incredibly excited to bring Shrek The Musical JR. to the Embassy Theatre,” added Lisa Jay, founder of the institute. “It is such a fun, energetic and uplifting show, and our performers are working incredibly hard to make this a production that audiences will remember. We can’t wait to see the curtain go up and share the magic of live theatre with everyone.”
