'It’s unique, it’s groundbreaking, but most of all it’s fun': Global cult hit Mythos: Ragnarök set to visit Skegness on UK tour

Following four sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and performances across the globe, the cult theatrical sensation Mythos: Ragnarök is bringing its unique fusion of Norse mythology, theatre, and professional wrestling to the Lincolnshire this year.,

Created in 2021 by writer and performer Ed Gamester, Mythos: Ragnarök has captivated audiences worldwide by blending the comedy and gravitas of Shakespearean-style theatre with the adrenaline and spectacle of live wrestling.

The story follows the legendary figures of Norse myth, including Loki, Thor, Odin, and others, as they navigate power struggles and attempt to prevent the prophesised end of the world, Ragnarök. Its witty script, larger-than-life characters, and high-octane performances have earned it a devoted following, making it one of the top-selling shows of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The UK tour features a full cast of professional wrestlers, including Gamester himself as the mischievous Loki, Howard Drake as Odin, Fin McCarthy as Borr and Fenrir, Louise Young as Gullveig, Beau Charles as Baldr, and legendary female wrestler Heidi Katrina as Freyja. James Dunn performs Thor, Sam Gardiner takes on Surtr and Jormungandr, Daisy Jenkins plays Hel, and the show’s designer and costume maker, Melanie Watson, portrays Skuld. Their combined wrestling experience brings thrilling, jaw-dropping action to the stage, seamlessly merging combat with storytelling in a way never seen before.

Ed Gamester explains: “Amazingly, this fusion of theatre with wrestling has never been done before.

"It’s unique, it’s groundbreaking, but most of all it’s fun! Nobody gives you a headline slot at Edinburgh Fringe – we earned our way up because thousands of people enjoy our show so much that they keep coming back, year after year.”

Set against the backdrop of epic Norse legend, the show is as humorous as it is exhilarating. Audiences can expect clever dialogue, dramatic confrontations, and high-energy wrestling sequences that push the boundaries of both theatre and sport. Gamester and his team have redefined the art of performance wrestling, showing that it can tell a story as powerfully as any traditional stage production.

Tickets are now available for the UK tour, which will visit the Embassy Theatre, Skegness, on April 10, starting at 7.30pm.
