The tree has been donated by Bell's Gardening Outlet of Benington, who are one of the sponsors on the meal, which is being hosted on Wednesday December 18 by the Skegness Standard, in partnership with the Methodist Church and local businesses and community groups.

Holly Bell, retail director, said: "Like most people at Christmas, this is a busy time of year here at Bell's.

"So we are always humbled by the efforts of community projects like this, and feel privileged to be able to play a small part in making Christmas a little brighter for those who might otherwise be lonely or have faced a challenging year.".

Sue Aldridge of Spilsby Methodist Church, commented: "We are delighted to have received a really beautiful Christmas tree from Bell's Gardening Outlet and are looking forward to putting on the decorations for the enjoyment of all the community that use the church, especially those who will attend the lunch."

Gunby Singers are the latest to confirm they will be attending the meal at Wainfleet and will provide some festive entertainment after the three-course meal, which starts at 1pm.

The meal is free to community members and we would especially like to see elderly members who may be alone at Christmas - and those who were affected by the floods earlier this year.
