New project aims to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in three areas of Skegness
A new project aiming to increase community safety at three key locations in Skegness is set to be launched.
The Safer Lincolnshire Partnership is spearheading the ‘Safer Skegness’ project to help reduce crime and tackle anti-social behaviour in Lumley Road, the High Street, and the Transport Hub (Skegness railway station and bus station).
Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to share their views and experiences by completing a short survey and joining a community involvement group.
As part of the survey, they can mark the locations where they already feel safe, or where they may have witnessed any incidents of crime or anti-social behaviour.

The project aims to:
• Help people feel safer and have more confidence using the town
• Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the three areas
• Ensure people know about local support services and how to access them
• Ensure agencies respond in a consistent and clear way when someone reports a crime or anti-social behaviour
Coun Alex McGonigle, executive councillor for community safety at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “As one of the most-loved resorts on the East Coast, Skegness is a fantastic place to live, work and visit, but we know there are some areas where improvements could be made.
“Hearing directly from residents is vital. By understanding the issues affecting people on the ground we can focus our efforts where they are needed most and make the best use of available resources.”
He added: “Please take a few moments to fill in the survey and share your experiences of these areas. By working together, we can make a real difference and help Skegness become an even safer and more welcoming place.”
How to get involved
As well as completing the survey, local people are also being invited to join a friendly community involvement group to share their suggestions and help shape plans. Please email: [email protected] to find out more and register your interest.
