£670k road improvement scheme underway near Bardney - but expect month-long disruption
Drivers are being warned of a month-long road closure as a major £670,000 resurfacing scheme gets underway between Bardney and Stainfield.
The improvement works are taking place on Ferry Road and are aimed at improving the condition, safety and long-term durability of the route, which has been plagued by deterioration and repeated repair work in recent years.
Lincolnshire County Council says the scheme will involve removing and replacing around 200mm of the existing carriageway, alongside structural improvements and reinforcement work in areas affected by ground movement.
The project is expected to run until June 29, with working hours between 7.30am and 5pm. No work will take place at weekends and the road will reopen on Saturdays and Sundays.

A 24-hour road closure is in place during the working week, with a signed diversion route operating throughout the scheme.
Andrew Creasey, County Programme Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "These works are being put in on Ferry Road between Bardney and Stainfield to make a big improvement to the condition and long-term durability of the route.
"It’s a significant resurfacing scheme which will cost around £670,000 to complete and will ultimately provide a safer and more reliable road."
The council says approximately 3,700 tonnes of material will be removed and replaced during the project. The old road surface will be recycled and used in future highways schemes as part of efforts to reduce waste.
Councillor David East, executive member for highways, said the scheme forms part of the authority's wider strategy to improve roads across Lincolnshire.
He said: "By investing in durable solutions like this, we are reducing the need for repeated reactive repairs and providing longer-lasting benefits for residents and road users."
Access for properties within the closure area will be maintained wherever possible.
Mr Creasey added: "We know these works can be disruptive and would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding while we deliver these improvements."
