Still time to help the brothers in arms
A proud mum of three Horncastle brothers has made a final appeal for items to send them - and their comrades - on a peacekeeping mission to trouble-torn Mali with some special reminders of home.
Melanie Norman’s sons John Rawdon (pictured with Lt Col Will Meddings) Erik Rawdon and David Rawdon serve in the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Mrs Norman launched an appeal for items to put together ‘We Care’ packages for the 250-strong unit to take to Mali.
She has thanked everyone who has responded and has enough donations of toiletries, sweets and other items (as well as cash ) for 160 packages. With just a month to go, that leaves 90 boxes remaining - if Mrs Norman is to reach her target.
•Donations can be made at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/soldiercarepackages or dropped off at Wibsey Butchers in Horncastle’s High Street.
