WATCH: Budding young artist from Skegness visits giant Tour of Britain cycling poster she designed
Children showing parents a drawing they’re proud of is one thing – but it’s quite another to show off a 60ft wide competition-winning poster you designed.
That was the case for young Grace Divilly whose colourful drawing of a Union Flag and bicycle was chosen for a land art project to mark the Tour of Britain race.
Grace was taking part in her year 6 leavers celebration at Richmond Primary Academy when it was announced she had won, and her artwork would be used as part of several county-wide displays created for the race, which took place in Lincolnshire on September 3.
Located in a field at Old Barn Retreat, Sutton Road, Alford, Grace’s drawing was recreated on a huge scale by artists from Sand in Your Eye.
The creative 11 year-old, who enjoys arts and crafts in her spare time, said she was “honoured” to be chosen and to finally see her artwork after the owners of the land allowed her to visit with her mum Katy. The moment was captured on camera and drone by local youtuber Neil Richardson.
Inspired by the experience, Grace now say she hopes to go on to study art in the future.
