Special service at the Minster

MALTBY councillors and residents were among those invited along to a special service at Rotherham Minister last weekend.

The Annual Service of the International Day of Prayer for Autism and Aspergers Syndrome took place on Sunday morning.

The service was given by Canon David Bliss.

Among the invited guests were Keith Stringer and Rotherham Borough Councillors Jenny Andrews and Lauren Astbury who help and make collections on behalf of the National Autistic Society in and around the borough.

David Moody, the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, also attended along with representatives from the National Autistic Society and the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham Coun Dave Pickering and Sue Pickering.

Keith said: “We were all pleased and honoured to be invited to this celebration.”

“It was a lovely service and a very touching sermon was given by Canon David Bliss.”
