This annual event is organised by the Gainsborough Rotary Club.

Julian Needham from the Rotary Club said: “The chairman of West Lindsey District Council, Councillor Roger Patterson attended and commented that it was a wonderful sight to see people from our local community coming together and enjoying the spirit of the evening.

“Our thanks must also go to the help and support of the cubs, who cooked the toffee apples donated by Morrisons, the ATC, and volunteers, Tesco who provided the 500 buns to make the burgers, which were a sell out.

“And we must make a mention to thank Lea Parish Council for allowing use of the Park, the nearby residents and everyone who attended.

“All the money raised will be donated to local charities.

“It was fantastic. There were lots of people there and it was a good family event with a real feel good factor.

“It was a lovely clear night which meant there was a perfect back drop for the fireworks and you could see them for miles around.

“There was a lot of applause at the end of the 18 minute fireworks display.

“This year we had a £3,000 budget for the display.

“We already have plans in place for next year and the event will be on November 4.”
