Two roads in Boston set for an £89,000 upgrade
Two roads in Boston are set for an £89,000 upgrade.
Somersby Way and Somersby Green, near Spilsby Road, are to undergo the improvements from tomorrow (Thursday, August 20).
The work forms part of a scheme from Lincolnshire County Council to renew and repair concrete roads across the county. This is the second of the 13 parts to the scheme.
The project will create a smoother and more resilient road surface for residents and help prevent more significant deterioration, the authority says.

The scheme includes: replacing the top 40mm of road material in a single layer, carrying out slab replacement where structural issues are found, and returning to complete saw-cutting and sealing at joint locations once the surfacing has settled.
Concrete repairs will take place tomorrow and Friday (August 21).
Surfacing work is due to follow between Wednesday and next Friday (August 26 and 28), with the finishing touches scheduled for Friday, September 18.
All work is being carried out Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5.30pm, with no weekend work planned.
A phased work programme is in place to maintain access wherever possible throughout the scheme. Diversion routes will be introduced and adjusted as required with short sections of carriageway possibly fenced off while fresh concrete cures, the council says.
Coun David East, executive member for highways and transport, said: “This part of the scheme is an investment into the local road network of around £89,000.
“Once complete, road users can expect improved ride quality, better skid resistance and a reduction in traffic noise and the improvements will help extend the life of the road too.
“This is practical investment that supports safer and more comfortable everyday journeys. We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience while we deliver these improvements for Boston.”
