Winner announced in college bake off

The winner has been announced of a competition which saw school pupils display their showstopping baking skills at Boston College.

Ash Holloway, from William Lovell Church of England Academy was announced the Star Baker of the 2017 Boston College Bake Off.

The final saw six bakers qualify for a Masterclass - with Ash winning with her creation of a chocolate checkerboard cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate shards for decoration.

She was up against Alena Osbourne, from Boston High School, Libby Simpson Tunnard, from William Lovell Church of England Academy, Sophie Lorenz from Thomas Middlecott Academy, Oliver Batt from St Georges Academy and Katie Hudson from The Thomas Cowley High School.
