Woodsetts: Midsummer Festival was huge success

Spirits were high for Woodsetts Midsummer Festival which brought a little bit of magic back into the British summer.

Organised by Woodsetts Millennium group, the event on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June at the Recreational Ground proved to be extremely successful with pleasant weather which helped to raise everybody’s spirits.

Sue Wood of Woodsetts Millennium Group said: “It was really good day and everybody enjoyed it.”

“We are hoping to have another one next year,” she added.

A bake-off took place with prizes given out for different categories.

The Novelty Cake category was won by Nicky Flood, Traditional Savoury was won by Iris Borthwick, joint winners Linda Kay and Emmma Dane triumphed in the Traditional Sweet category.

Sarah Taylor was the winner of the Children’s category, and Matthew Ainsley championed in the under 10s category.

Other activities included craft stalls, a DJ, and many other fun events.
