Women’s Institute - At the October meeting of the WI, Ken Day gave an interesting and amusing account of his many years as a speaker.

The competition for a brooch was won by S Wright, with M Kane second and S Johnson third.

Flower of the month was won by D Short, with M Kane second and P Cooper third.

The next trip will be to Louth M&Co and the theatre on November 9, leaving Wragby at 5.30pm.

Christmas invitations have been received from Bardney, Fiskerton and East Barkwith.

Soft toys and wrapped bottles are needed for the town hall Christmas fair.

Suggestions were required for the annual meal in January. There will be a Christmas card tree at the December meeting.

Parish council - The next monthly meeting will be held in the town hall on Monday, November 7.

There will be a public forum at 7.15pm, when members of the public can ask questions and raise matters of concern in the parish.

Three vacant seats remain on the parish council. Anyone interested in finding out more about serving as a councillor should call the clerk, Steve Wallace, on 01507 343254.

Gardeners club - Now into its winter programme, the next meeting will be in the town hall on November 8 at 7.30pm.

The speaker will be Jannette Merilion, a well-known horticultural lecturer and historian, who has a successful garden design business.

Visitors are always welcome. The annual fee for members is £5, with an entrance fee of £1. More details are available on 01673 857153.
