Champions crowned after losing final match

Despite losing their final game in dramatic fashion, Kitchen Solutions clinched the title in the Louth Billiards and Snooker League.

They actually went 4-0 up away at Louth Travel centre, courtesy of Craig Young and Russ Howard.

But Jim Ingham, Pete Willoughby and Mark Copeland all then won for the hosts to sink Kitchen Solutions and ensure a good second place finish for their team in the standings.

They ended up joint-second with Louth Building Supplies after they drew 6-6 against J. Melton Painters, with Tom Williams, and Kyle Johnson winning for the hosts only for Wes Burton and Jack Westerby to answer back in some style for the visitors.

Also finishing in joint second were GRS Electrical Services after they won 8-4 away at Dales Poultry & Game, with Ian Winn, Will Harrison, Dave Green and Dave Evans all winning for the visitors.

Dave Coppin and Jez Swaby got two frames each for the home side to add some respectability on the score sheet.

In the other games this week, NT Shaw Citroen drew 6-6 with Harness & Cooper Joiners, with Chris Dixon winning for the hosts only for Dave Revell to answer back for the visitors.

In the last game Wilbuck Scaffolding drew 6-6 with Sibjon Builders, with Keith Lewington, Sinom Davison and Sean Fieldsend puting the hosts on the front foot, only for the battling trio of Anthony Pridgeon, John Mountain and Tony Melin to equalise for the visitors.

In a thrilling billiards league play-off, ABC Riding Wear won it 4-2 against New Team.

Terry Espin, Mike Rice and Kev Fenwick put them in control.

They only needed to win one more to clinch the trophy.

However, they went 2-0 behind thanks to the efforts of Warren Smith and Sam Mountain.

ABC Riding Wear were crowned the winners.

Kev Fenwick came up trumps to get that all-important victory to secure the overall win.
