Aston Hall keep points

Aston Hall kept the points at Green Lane at the weekend, with victory over Upper Haugh.

The visitors decided to bat first, and stumper Ross Diver and John Ashton each scored 38 as they added 86 runs for the first wicket.

Adam Clark also contributed as Upper Haugh seemed well poised for a big score at 166 for 3, but then collapsed to 182 all out.

Gary Steele took 3 for 21 and Uzman Azeem caused the innings collapse with final figures of 5 for 50.

Aston’s response began well as Joe Barker (40) and youngster Jack Simmonite (39) added 65 for the first wicket.

Azeem claimed Man of the Match status with 12 fours in his 67 not out to see Aston home with six wickets and 10 balls to spare.

Aston Hall B are rooted to the bottom of the Division One table, after defeat by Shiregreen.

Aston batted first and despite 34 from Tim Shaw had little else to offer.

They were bowled out for 90 in 30 overs asNasser Rasool took 6 for 8.

Shiregreen reached their target after losing four wickets and using 27 overs

Newly recruited Richard Stump took 4 for 21 for the Aston side.

Maltby moved into a promotion position in Division Three after easily beating Worsbrough at their Muglet Lane ground.

Worsbrough batted first but had little answer to Maltby strike duo; Liam Woodward (3 for 18) and Gary Mills (7 for 17).

Maltby bowled out their opponents for 35 and eased to victory after 16.3 overs and with just two wickets lost.

In Division Four Maltby B scored 133 against Warmsworth B, with Luke Hicks contributing 47.

Adam Saynor bowled well to claim 6 for 26.

Warmsworth B could only muster 85 in reply, despite 35 from opener Matthew Spurr. Peter

Brewster took 5 for 20 and Jordan Beighton 4 for 34 for Maltby.
