Defending champions are too strong for Woodhall
Bracebridge Heath 257-9, Woodhall Spa 205-9.
Defending Lincs ECB Premier champions Bracebridge Heath proved too strong for Woodhall Spa on Saturday.
Woodhall won the toss and elected to field, but could not stop the hosts posting 257-9 after their 50 overs.
Connor Parsons claimed four wickets for the loss of 74 runs while Paul Timby (2-48) also chipped in with the ball.
The remaining wickets were claimed by JP Prinsloo (1-19) and Tanveer Sikander (1-44) while Ross Dixon added a run out.
However, Nick John’s 98 - his hopes of a century cut short after Paul Timby trapped him lbw - helped Bracebridge post a decent total.
In response, Sikander struck 113 for the Spa men before he was caught by Paul Cook off Brett Houston.
However, Houston also claimed the wicket of opener Jack Luffman for zero and few fellow Woodhall batsmen managed to reach double figures. Ross Dixon (21), Joe Irving (15) and Jack Timby (14) added to the score, but Woodhall ended their overs 52 runs short on 205-9.
Woodhall Spa’s Seconds were beaten by 28 runs against Billingborough Firsts in the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division.
The away side posted 257-6, with Spa dismissed for 229.
The Sunday Seconds were beaten at home by Morton.
Their score of 138-8 saw the away side respond with 141-1.
On Saturday, Woodhall Firsts host Nettleham and the Seconds travel to Belton Park Firsts. The Sunday Firsts are away at Hartsholme and the Sunday Seconds host Heighington.
