Match hit by rain

North Wheatley with Leverton suffered at the hands of the weather on Saturday, when their Championship match at Anston ended in a draw.

They had posted an impressive 256 for nine with Dwight Thomas hitting 73 and Liam Summers 49, and Anston were on 180 for five before the rain interfered.

In Division One Wiseton had an enforced lay-off when their match at West Indian Cavaliers was called off as the ground was unfit. Another rain-affected game saw Rose Leisure draw away to Anston III. The hosts posted a challenging 249 for five but Ben Smith (69) and Andrew West (50) helped Roses to 164 for 3and a share of the points.

North Wheatley with Leverton II entertained Clay Cross Works and managed a five-wicket victory, bowling the visitors out for 144 (Dave Waller 3-16 and Ian Tingle 3-30) before passing that total thanks to good knocks from Martin Pring (49*) and J. Pring (32). Misterton suffered their first defeat of the season in Division Five when they visited Harthill II and lost by 59 runs.

The hosts scored 177 for one and Misterton were bowled out for 118.
