Brigg Town booster ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday
Brigg Town were given a boost ahead of their opening Northern Counties League Division One campaign on Saturday with a final 4-0 friendly win over Nettleham on Tuesday night.
New signing Dayle Southwell grabbed a brace as the Zebras bounced straight back from a 6-2 reversal at Dearne & District on Saturday, which had been a third pre-season loss on the bounce.

Brigg host Appleby Frodingham on Saturday as the new season kicks off before heading for Kinsley Boys on Tuesday night in the first round of the League Cup.
Within four minutes of the start against Lincolnshire League outfit Nettleham, great footwork from Reece York fashioned an opportunity in the final third, slotting the ball to Southwell and leaving him in bags of space to tuck the ball into the bottom corner.
On 34 minutes Josh Batty squared the ball for York, who struck it low first time, finding the bottom right corner for the second.
Five minutes later Batty was on the scoresheet himself, pouncing on a short backpass, Batty latching onto the ball and slotting home.
Southwell rattled the woodwork on 58 minutes and had a free kick saved from 25 yards on 65 minutes.
But he completed his brace on 73 minutes when a cross deflected into his path and he passed the ball by the onrushing keeper.
Against last season's Division One champions Dearne, Batty scored twice, his second from the penalty spot with just 17 minutes left and the score at 4-2 before Dearne added two late goals to their tally.
