Brigg Town fans get first glimpse of new signing Southwell in draw against Bridlington
Brigg Town fans had their first glimpse of new signing Dayle Southwell as their side drew 2-2 at home to Bridlington Town in Friday night's opening pre-season friendly.
The 32-year-old striker arrived, having had spells most recently with Grimsby Borough and Gainsborough Trinity.

A natural goalscorer and FA Cup quarter-finalist, he has previously made 32 appearances across EFL competitions at Wycombe Wanderers and Lincoln City.
On Southwell’s arrival, joint manager Stephen McCarron said: “We are really excited to have him on board and hope he can stay injury free.
“We needed someone hot on Josh Batty's heels as it will give him a kick up the backside knowing he has someone competing. Ideally we want to be able to play different formations too and it will be exciting to see Dale and Batty together up top and see what sort of partnership they can form. Looking at it, we have some fantastic options.”
Southwell added: “I can’t wait to get going here. It is a good club with a good set-up.
“The reason I came here is I want to be part of a team that gets promoted and that is the sole aim as we have a good team and really should be challenging.”
Josh Batty and Reece York were Brigg's scorers on Friday as they hit back from 2-0 down against their NPL Division One East opponents.
Joint Brigg boss Martin Pembleton said: “I don't know if the score really reflected the game as we played some really nice stuff in that first half without really causing them a threat. We kept the ball nicely, moved it well and created some openings. But we have to be better at the back – they had two shots and scored two goals.
“On the whole, second half I think we got what we deserved and I think we deserved to come away with a draw.”
After a scheduled midweek home friendly with Scunthorpe United, the Zebras host Bottesford Town this Saturday.
