Connor McBride ‘buzzing’ to make his full Boston United debut

The striker, released by Rochdale, picked up a hamstring injury in the summer and missed some of pre-season.

But he is now hoping to make his mark and said: “I am buzzing to be back out there.
“Someone said the worst thing in football was being injured, and it has been difficult for me.
“I wanted to be involved straight away but I had to be patient. Hopefully I can now kick on.
“It was far from ideal missing a chunk of pre-season but I am fit now and hopefully it stays that way.
“I want to repay the gaffer's faith in bringing me in and do well for him.”
Boston twice had to battle back from behind through Jamie Grimes and sub Lenell John-Lewis on Saturday and McBride said: “It was probably a fair result – we didn't reach the levels we wanted to reach.
“We are miles better than that in and out of possession. So we'll probably take a draw.
“The character we showed to twice come from behind is something you can take from it, but these are games we want to be winning to achieve our goals for the season.
“It's a squad game and everyone has to be ready to make an impact and Lenny did that instantly when he came on.
“You need to win your battles first and foremost every game. It's a little harder here with the pitch and their style of play.
“But if you want to get to where you want to get to, you need to be coming here and winning games.
“But if you can't win it, don't lose it. A lot of teams will come here and lose, so for us to get a point, we'll take it and move on.”
On the season ahead, he added: “We have to kick on and aim as high as possible.
“We have really good players in the changing room and a manager that's given us a style of play that everyone should be excited to be playing.
“We need to be winning most of our home games.”
