Doors open to newcomers as Louth Archery Club find new venue
Louth and District Archery Club have moved into a new venue – and their doors are open for newcomers to the sport.
The club have operated in and around the Louth area since the late 80s, but Covid and the loss of several venues impacted the club and, with dwindling numbers, the hunt for a venue closer to Louth was undertaken.

Happily, Louth Tennis and Sport Centre stepped in and offered the use of their facilities which has given the club a new lease of life.
The club offer ‘taster’ sessions, where anyone is welcome to come along and give archery a try in a safe environment under the guidance of an experienced coaching staff, who have a great many years of experience helping the able, and less able bodied to try archery.
All equipment is provided by the club for these sessions and their coaching staff can take you from learning the basics all the way to international competition if you wish.
The club shoots on Monday evenings from 6-8pm at John Spendluffe School, Alford, and on Saturday evenings from 5-7pm at the Tennis Centre.
If you’d like to give archery a try, please contact secretary Richard Howitt, via [email protected], or find them on Facebook at Louth & District Archers.
