The Pilgrims have hit a hot streak, winning their past three matches and six of their last seven contests.

And the defender is sure that if United can keep picking up the points then their promotion dream is well and truly on.

“We’ve got to keep our feet on the ground, but six out of seven is absolutely fantastic, exactly what we needed,” Piergianni said.

Last season the Pilgrims were unbeaten in their final 10 league matches, forcing their way into third spot.

And the defender reckons that the club could now go on to better that streak.

“We’ve got into form a bit earlier than last season - who knows what can happen,” he added.

“If we keep winning our games it makes other teams have to win matches in hand.

“If we get points on the board we know others will slip up around us.”

The Pilgrims currently sit in third in the standings and will be looking to claim a further three points against Frank Sinclair’s Hednesford on Saturday (KO 3pm).
