Market Rasen Town slip to defeat after Kerim Djerbi is sent off

Market Rasen Town began their season with a 4-3 loss at to North Somercotes at Rase Park.

A superb first half hat-trick from last season’s top goal scorer Kerim Djerbi seemed like it would be enough to take the three points as Town led 3-1 at half-time.

But the second half soon swung in the visitors favour when, after 55 minutes, Djerbi was red-carded for lashing out at an opponent.

It totally changed the game with Rasen unable to hang on as Somercotes levelled with ten minutes to go.

Rasen pushed for a winner with Jake Bennett coming closest with his long range effort tipped over the bar from 25 yards.

But, in the last minute of the game, Rasen keeper Zac Room paid the price after conceding a penalty.
