Second win in five days lifts Boston United out of drop zone after revenge derby win
Boston United recorded back-to-back home victories in five days and moved out of the National League drop zone with striker Tom Cursons scoring two more goals to shoot down visiting Scunthorpe United in Saturday evening’s derby clash.
It was sweet revenge for the Iron’s FA Cup win at Boston three weeks before.

Cursons opened the scoring the penalty spot in the 14th minute after being fouled by ex-Pilgrim Jean Belehouan, before doubling the lead on the counter attack three minutes before half-time.
James Norwood pulled a goal back eight minutes after the break, with the effort allowed to stand despite a blatant handball from the Iron striker, but the Pilgrims stood firm to record another crucial home win.
Cursons, Jack Holmes and Georgie Gent were all rewarded for impressive cameos from the bench in midweek with starting berths against the Iron.
Scunthorpe crafted the first meaningful chance, with Louis Chadwick called into action to deny Pat Jones.
Belehouan's foul afforded Boston the chance to take the lead - with Cursons sending Maison Campbell the wrong way from the spot.
United went further in front after clearing a Scunthorpe corner - with Ken Aboh motoring to unselfishly tee up Cursons to crash home his second from outside the box.
Aboh netted moments after the break, but was flagged offside, but the decision certainly did not go Boston's way at the other end when Norwood controlled a raking ball over the top with his arm before netting - with referee Aaron Bannister failing to disallow the goal.
It thankfully had no bearing on the result with substitute Ollie Bostock denied by Campbell as the Pilgrims chased a late and clinching third.
