The sentence includes 12 months for dangerous driving and two months for driving while disqualified. Both sentences will run concurrently, say police.

Weston, from Derwent Drive in Oakham, Rutland, was also disqualified from driving for three years and he must pass an extended test. He was also handed a probation requirement and must pay a surcharge of £187, say police.

A force spokesperson said: “Police officers saw Weston driving a Silver Ford Focus on the A153 in Sleaford on Sunday September 13, 2026 at around 4pm.

“He was requested to stop but failed to do so and kept driving for a further 10 miles. He was arrested when his vehicle stopped working and he was pulled over in a layby near Tumby.”

According to the spokesperson, Weston was charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, possession of drugs, failing to stop and driving without insurance.

He pleaded guilty to all charges at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Tuesday September 15 and was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, October 29.
