Win is weight off shoulders admits Boston United two-goal hero Cursons
Boston United matchwinner Tom Cursons admitted Tuesday night's 2-1 home win over fellow strugglers Gateshead was a massive weight off everyone's shoulders.
Despite some promising displays, the Pilgrims had struggled for a win in recent weeks and found themselves in the drop zone.

So, trailing 1-0 to the league's bottom club with 11 minutes to go, the Pilgrims were delighted to see substitute Cursons, on since the 68th minute, level within 11 minutes of coming on before grabbing a dramatic winner in the fifth added minute.
“This win was a massive weight off our shoulders,” he said.
“The fans have obviously been disappointed with results recently, and understandably, but the weight on our shoulders is just as big.
“No one wants to be in a team that's losing every week and we have been fighting and battling to put it right.
“But it is only one win and we have to go and replicate that performance against Scunthorpe on Saturday now and again find that way to win.
“It was a result that has been a long time coming, but one that our performances have deserved for a while now.
“It is a skill to find a way to win and I am delighted we've found a way to win tonight.
“The reality is we are at the bottom end of the table so it's not going too be pretty most of the time.
“I think there was some good stuff at the end, but the reality is we have bundled it in twice.
“If that's what it takes and we do that plenty more times this season then I don't think anyone at the football club is going to be too bothered.”
He continued: “As a sub you have to get over the disappointment of not playing pretty quickly and then it's about coming on and making an impact.
“I knew they were going to be tired after battling against Lenny (Lenell John-Lewis) all game.
“So it was just about trying to make the most of that, trying to stretch it, trying to put myself about and, when the chance comes, try to be ruthless.”
Cursons' opener was created by some magic from fellow sub Jack Holmes and the striker said: “Jack is slippery, he glides about and he has a trick in him.
“He is an exciting player and I am delighted for him that he has come on in the last two games and been really lively.
“He had a really positive impact today and I thought he was brilliant for the 20-25 minutes he got on.”
Gateshead were unhappy with both Boston goals, claiming Cursons had kicked the ball out their keeper's hands for his first and that Ken Aboh should have been pulled up for dangerous play for an attempted overhead kick in the goalmouth scramble that produced the winner.
They were also unhappy it was scored on 95 minutes when only four had been added.
“Every goalie will claim they had their hands on it. I genuinely don't know either way,” said Cursons.
“I am not going to stand here and say it was definitely a goal or not.
“If I see a loose ball in the box, I kick it towards the goal – that's my job.
“So until the referee blows his whistle and says I have done it wrong I will run away and celebrate.
“I didn't see Ken's overhead kick – I think I tackled him twice!
“It is scrappy at times when you are at this end of the table and games are as tight as that with both teams needing a win.
“I saw the ball bouncing about and I just knew I had to get good contact and guide it towards goal.
“I can strike a ball hard enough to beat the keeper and I did today, which was nice.
“I probably wasn't the most composed I've ever been. I did just try to hit it quite hard.
“But it's about being able to time it. If I see the ball drop in the box, my eyes light up to be honest.”
