Ben Wilson will take a break from racing this year.

The former British Superbikes rider has decided to concentrate on his rehabilitation, but will still be involved with Gearlink Kawasaki.

In a statement, the Kirton rider said: "The result of two complicated leg breaks last year has unfortunately left my lower leg needing further attention and due to lockdown restrictions I have been unable to see the necessary army of people who I need for my rehab and to get me to where I need to be.

"Therefore I have made the difficult decision to concentrate on getting my leg properly sorted.

"As it is the same leg which I shattered in 2016, I need to give it the time it deserves to heal as I am still battling with it daily.

"I will therefore be helping Gearlink Kawasaki out for this short season, as crew chief for Ben Currie.

"I'd like to thank my loyal sponsors, my fans and people who have stood bedside me through the recent injury plagued time in my career.

"I remain positive and motivated to get back on the grid. I love this sport... I'm not ready to give it up yet."
