Mickie makes speedway mark amongst the adults

Mickie Simpson has been in speedway action at the first round of the Scunthorpe Winter Series - stepping up from youth racing to mix it with the adults for the first time.

Mickie, from Wrangle, entered the support class to see how he fared.

After some good racing he won his fist three rides before getting a bad start in race four.

Although at the back from the tapes, Mickie fought hard to get to second but was unable to catch the leader before the flag.

He then went on to win his fifth ride and win his class overall, with the finals been abandoned after a fellow rider had a serious crash.
