From the steep Michaelgate ascent in Lincoln to the stunning climbs of North Yorkshire, alongside entertaining sprint finishes across the five stages, fans can look forward to five days of great racing.

Bush (Great Britain Cycling Team), from Stamford, will race in his first Lloyds Tour of Britain.

As a child, Bush was encouraged to try a variety of sports, including alpine skiing, which he has credited in helping the development of his cycling skills.

Bush decided to focus on road cycling after the pandemic and has gone from strength to strength since.

The 21-year-old has had a breakout season so far, beating established professionals to win silver at the 2026 national criterium championships and a top-five finish in the under-23 national road race championships.

Bush usually rides for WorldTour Team Picnic PostNL’s development team, but for this occasion he was chosen to represent his country.

Bush spoke about the opportunity to be racing on home roads in Lincolnshire:

“Racing with the Great Britain Cycling Team at the Lloyds Tour of Britain this year is a really great opportunity for me as an under-23 rider to continue to develop.

“The first two stages of the race are the most special to me, as both start in my home county of Lincolnshire.

“Michaelgate has been a big staple of the domestic scene for years now, so I’m really interested to see how it will be raced amongst the professionals.

“I also think the first part of the second stage will be tricky – you can’t underestimate the Wolds.”

Bush will line up for the Great Britain Cycling Team alongside accomplished riders in Commonwealth Games champion Matt Bostock and Olympic medallist Ollie Wood, as well as fellow up-and-coming talents in Ben Wiggins, Elliot Rowe, and William Smith.

The Lincolnshire rider will also hope to be in the mix for stage wins, competing with some of the world’s best riders, such as two of the fastest men on two wheels and Tour de France stage winners Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM) and Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step).

The Lloyds Tour of Britain Men commences with two stages in Lincolnshire, the first seeing the peloton tackle the historic streets of Lincoln before the second heads east from Boston to Skegness. The next two stages explore Yorkshire, heading from the Wolds to the Dales.

Stage three starts in Hull and concludes in Beverley, whilst stage four returns to Helmsley before ending in Leyburn.

The general classification will then be finalised during stage five in the Scottish Borders, starting and finishing in the town of Earlston.

The Lloyds Tour of Britain is the largest free-to-attend sporting spectacle in the UK and is delivered under the mantel of two races, one Tour of Britain.

It is part of the UCI ProSeries, making it one of the most prestigious sporting events in the sport’s global calendar.
