Triathlon joy for thrower Gillespie
Jim Gillespie recorded his second-best-ever Heavy Throws Triathlon points total as he competed at the Swindon Invitational Winter Throws event on Saturday.
The first event, the hammer, saw Jim record a throw of 24.78m putting him into a lead he would never relinquish.
The Wragby athlete went on to throw 8.77m in the shot putt, and 9.81m in the heavyweight hammer for a final points score of 1,451.

Hide Ad“I have had a tremendous winter season, throwing far better than I have done before at this time of year,” Jim said.
“Naturally, I was hoping to carry that on into the summer, but now everything is all up in the air with the coronavirus.”
