Yarborough Leisure Centre to host Health and Wellbeing Day for local community
Yarborough Leisure Centre in Lincoln is hosting a Health and Wellbeing Day on Friday 30 October, offering free health checks, exercise tasters and access to a wide range of local support services.

The free drop-in event, running from 10am to 2pm, will also see the launch of a new Better Healthwise timetable for Lincoln, including new classes for Healthwise members such as Healthwise Spin and Healthwise Circuits.
The event aims to help adults across Lincoln discover the health, wellbeing and community services available locally and find out how to access them.
Visitors will be able to access free blood pressure checks and use body composition scales, take part in a seated exercise taster session and speak directly with representatives from local organisations.
Louise Mellows, Better Healthwise Coordinator for the City of Lincoln, said: “We want to help people across Lincoln find out what health and wellbeing support is available in their local area and how they can access it.
“As well as offering free blood pressure checks, we’ll be launching our new Healthwise timetable, with more opportunities for people to get active. Exercise isn’t just about keeping fit. It’s a great way to meet new people, make friends, and support both physical and mental wellbeing.”
Women will also be able to access free menopause information and take part in discussions about support available. Children’s activities, including a bouncy castle, will also be provided.
The event has been organised in in conjunction with the City of Lincoln Council and NHS Lincolnshire. Attendees will have access to 20 local organisations, among them Great Northern Physiotherapy, One You Lincolnshire, It's All About People, Talking Therapies, Buddie's Dementia Café, Xyla, Men of Megin, Headway Lincolnshire, and many more.
Yarborough Leisure Centre is run by GLL, a charitable social enterprise.
