Plenty of events for Mablethorpe RC

Mablethorpe Running Club have been involved in a series of events.

At the Grimsby Frank Barraclough Memorial Open, held at the King George V Stadium there were more than 200 competitors from all age groups in various track running distances, also field activities such as long jump, high jump, pole vaulting and more.

Mablethorpe RC’s Rob Hawse, daughter Ella and son Colby competed, alongside Ellie Rainbowand Janine Stones,

Rob ran the senior men’s 3,000m in 9 mins 49.7 secs, Ella completed the under 15s girls’ 800m with a PB of 2 mins 42.7 secs and also took part in the long jump, with a distance of 3.26m.

Colby ran the under 13 boys’ 100m with a PB in 17.6 secs.

In the under 13s girls, Ellie ran the 800m in a PB 3 mins 01 secs.

Ellie also ran the 200m in 35.6 secs.

Janine - in the veteran women - ran the 3,000m in 11 mins 48.2 secs and was first woman in her heat.

Sharon Wheatley Margarson and Elaine Wilson once again returned to the first running of the 2016 Croxby Crawl.

There were 139 competitors at this summer’s evening event.

As can be expected of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the course takes on 4.44 miles of undulating and uneven terrain so, once again, both ladies were happy with their performances.

Sharon finished in 101st place in 39 mins 59 secs and, Elaine finished 124th place in 42 mins 58 secs).

Normanby Hall Country Park’s supermile saws Janine Stones run an impressive 5 mins 51 secs for 23rd, being the first lady over the one-mile distance.

At the Eye 10k Road Race, 528 runners completed the course.

From Mablethorpe RC, Andrea Mettam ran 1 hr 27 secs for 375th.

Teammate Debbie Jinks ran 57 mins 11 secs for 256th.
