David Miller with Carol Croft and Les Warren won big, 25-9, including a six and a five, but the other games were very close.

John Booth’s set of Isabel Drain and Graham Croft dropped six shots over the last two ends to finish just a shot ahead at 16-15, while Les Jenkins with Les Wilkinson and Angela Goddard won 16-13 despite losing the last six ends.

The week’s final match saw Ruskington visited by Boston in the Coningsby League.

Against their fellow promoted side, the clubs shared the points, as Ruskignton won two of the three rinks, but lost the aggregate.

Les Jenkins with Trevor Thackray and Les Wilkinson met a very strong set and were crushed 8-24, but that was almost balanced by Jim Matson’s set of Lorraine Clifton and Paul Butterworth who won 21-11.

Waylon Clarke with Sue Mitchell and Keith Pilbeam were neck-and-neck with their opponents and won the final end with a two to win the match 21-19. So we lost the aggregate and the two clubs shared the points with four each.
