Sleaford Tennis Club will re-open today - and courts can be booked by both members and non-members.

Meanwhile, free coaching open days are being held and are open to all.

The club's pavilion will remain closed, but this good news offers sports fans the chance to get out and active once again as the roadmap out of lockdown begins.

Social distancing must be maintained, but doubles and singles play are both permitted.

The rule of six applies on the concourse around the pavilion and there should be no socialising.

The free coaching open days will be held this Saturday (April 3, 1.30pm-4.30pm) and Saturday, April 10 (1.30pm-4.30pm).

Due to the restrictions on numbers taking part, children aged nine years and under are invited between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

The 2.30pm-3.30pm time slot will be for juniors aged 10 to 15 years while 3.30pm-4.30pm is for everyone over the age of 16, including adults.

Booking is essential for these sessions, which will be coach-led, with all equipment provided.

Holiday Camps will be held for Juniors aged five to 12 years of age on Tuesday, April 6, Wednesday, April 14 and Friday, April 16.

These will all start at 9.30am and finish at 3.30pm.

The cost is £15 for members and £20 for non-members.

Meanwhile, coaching is available both on a one-to-one basis or is groups while junior group coaching is available on Thursday evenings and Saturdays mornings.

The ladies' only Slice Girls return on Tuesday's from tomorrow (March 30, 7.30pm), for al abilities.

The cost for this session is £1 for members (if floodlights are needed) and £3 for non-members.

The family-oriented Ice Cream/Hot Chocolate Sundays will be back from April from 9.30am-11am.

The event is free to members or £2 per player for non-members.

All equipment is provided but the ice creams will not be available until later in the season when restrictions are lifted.

Match practice nights will again be on a Wednesday evening.

Anyone wishing to be considered for a place in a team playing in local leagues should head down to this session.

It is free to members but a charge will be made if floodlights are used.

Singles and doubles box leagues will be held at the club while adult social sessions will run at 11am on a Sunday from April 4.

This is for all abilities and everyone is welcome. This is free for members and a visitor fee of £4 per adult may apply to non-members.
