Concert for cancer at parish church
A spectacular showcase featuring professional local singers and musicians promises to have people dancing in the aisles.
The event on Saturday, March 14 at Heckington's St Andrew's Church, aims to put music into the heart of the village whilst bolstering Cancer Research funds.
Organiser Denise Parker from Rock Choir said: "I was inspired by the changing seasons, moving from cold winter days into spring where everything bursts into life again.
"Music is so uplifting, what better way to bounce into spring than by having a wonderful concert featuring local talent.

"Of course, everyone is affected, directly or indirectly, by cancer so it's the perfect opportunity to raise funds to help scientists help us all."
Denise, who lives in Heckington, said that in the last year or two her cousin Fiona, her best friend Cheryl, three neighbours and three former work colleagues had suffered from cancer. Plus she lost her mother Alice in 2012 from renal cell carcinoma.
With one in every two people now predicted to get cancer it was time to take action.
Denise said: "Like many, I support the work of Cancer Research monthly. It's making huge strides advancing diagnosis and treatment. I'd invite everyone to get behind this and make a difference."

Forming the line up at the evening concert are The Rock Choir from Sleaford, Gainsborough, Woodhall Spa, Spalding and Boston led by Lincolnshire singer Lulu Nora.
Also on the billing are local performers Hannah Priestley, Chelsey Bamford, Take Note Choir and Charlie Russell, Mike Lock and his quintet Florentina Brass.
Denise said: "Originally 50 per cent of proceeds were going to the church but kind members of the Parochial Church Council decided it was such a worthy cause that Cancer Research would receive every penny. I'm overwhelmed.
"The Rev Capt Chris Harrington and the team of volunteers led by Margaret Ingham and Chris Cullen have been extremely supportive.
"We're hoping for a magical evening. Everyone is welcome. "
The concert starts at 7pm and tickets are available online at: http://ticketsource.co.uk/concert-for-cancer
