The youngsters looked at old photographs of Sleaford which showed the differences from how it looked in 1909 to the present day.

They were also able to compare maps of the town from 220, 120 and 40 years ago and see how it has grown, and to look at domestic artifacts from the past which could be compared with items they would find in their homes.

A spokesman for the museum said the dressing up box was a particular favourite with the children, who tried on hats, dresses and more.

The visit was supported by staff and parents from the William Alvey Primary School’s Year One team – and also volunteers from the museum.
