Since first opening its doors in 1996, Specsavers Lincoln, which is locally owned and run, has grown significantly, expanding from a team of six colleagues and four testing rooms to now employing more than 80 people across the two Lincoln locations, with a total of 16 testing rooms.

To mark the milestone, the team welcomed customers to a celebration at the city centre store over the weekend, complete with a balloon arch, cupcakes and fundraising activities in support of St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice. The event raised £300 for the local charity.

Paul Hurdley, store director, says: 'Celebrating 30 years in Lincoln is a really proud moment for all of us. We've had the privilege of caring for the local community, and it's incredible to reflect on how much we've grown over the past 30 years.’

‘What started as a small store with just a handful of colleagues has grown into a team of more than 80 people across our two Lincoln stores. Throughout that time, our focus has always remained the same - providing the highest standard of eye and hearing care to our community.

'We've continually invested in our colleagues, training and technology so that we can offer the very best eye and hearing care available on the high street. Reaching more than 1.5 million eye tests is an achievement we're incredibly proud of, and it's all thanks to the trust and support of our customers over the past three decades.

'It was wonderful to celebrate this milestone with the local community while also raising money for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, a charity that does so much for people across the county. We're excited to continue supporting the people of Lincoln for many years to come'.
