LOCAL CARE HOME WORKER RAISES £500 FOR CHARITY
An activity assistant at Maple Leaf Lodge in Grantham put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ as she braved the shave to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Research.

Sharon works as the activity assistant at Maple Leaf Lodge and works hard daily to ensure smiles are put on the residents faces. Sharon has worked in the home since 2021 and decided to brave the shave as it meant so much to her and wanted to raise money and awareness for the incredible work Macmillan do.
Sharon was surrounded by residents, colleagues and friends as Activity Coordinator Courtney shaved her hair. Sharon’s bravery managed to raise a wonderful total of £500. After the shave Care Assistant Darren jumped in the seat and braved the shave with her raising an extra £50.

Courtney, Activity Coordinator at Maple Leaf Lodge said: “Everyone in the home was keen to show Sharon support. Macmillan cancer support is a great cause that helps many people in need, which is a cause very close to the hearts of all our staff and residents, and we are really proud of Sharon to have been able to raise this money. Thank you to everyone who donated!”
