Slimming World charity partnership
Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham Slimming World Groups making a difference in more ways than one.
Slimming World groups across Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham are proving that they are about far more than losing weight. Through friendship, community spirit and supporting local and national causes, members continue to make a real difference both to their own lives and to the lives of others.
Over recent weeks, members have supported two major Cancer Research UK campaigns – the Big Slimming World Clothes Throw and Race for Life – demonstrating the incredible generosity and community spirit that exists within Slimming World groups across North East Lincolnshire.
As part of the Big Slimming World Clothes Throw, local members donated an incredible 301 bags of clothes. Those donations could raise around £7,525 for Cancer Research UK, helping to fund approximately 12 weeks of a lab technician’s time dedicated to life-saving cancer research.
Many of those bags contained clothes that no longer fitted after members had achieved their weight-loss goals, making every donation a powerful reminder of lives transformed through healthier habits and ongoing support.
Members also laced up their trainers to take part in Race for Life in Cleethorpes, raising more than £6,000 so far for Cancer Research UK. Whether walking, jogging or running, every participant was encouraged by fellow members, proving that being active is about building confidence, celebrating achievements and supporting one another rather than simply crossing a finish line.
Slimming World has proudly supported Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life for the third consecutive year, and together with the Clothes Throw campaign has helped raise millions of pounds nationally for life-saving research.
While fundraising is an important part of what Slimming World does, consultants say these campaigns also showcase something equally special – the friendships, encouragement and sense of belonging that members find every week in their local groups.
Across Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham, members continue to inspire one another to make healthy changes, become more active, improve their confidence and achieve things they may once have thought impossible.
The success of these campaigns is also a reminder of the important role Slimming World groups play within the local community, bringing people together, supporting local charities and helping thousands of people improve both their physical and mental wellbeing.
As the local Slimming World community continues to grow, there are also exciting opportunities for people who are passionate about helping others to become Slimming World Consultants.
Consultants come from all walks of life, united by a desire to support others, build thriving local communities and run a rewarding business while making a genuine difference.
