East Lindsey District Council delighted after glorious Bank Holiday weather brings tourists flocking to Skegness, Mablethorpe and other coastal tourist spots

East Lindsey District Council has spoken of its delight after the Bank Holiday weekend’s ‘first class’ weather sparked a busy few days for local coastal resorts.

The council’s portfolio holder for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Coun Adam Grist, said: “This weekend has been a busy one both on the coast and inland and we hope businesses have done good trade.

“The weather has been first class which makes all the difference.

“As a council we’re continuing to work with the Skegness, East Coast and Wolds Hospitality Association (SECWHA) and Visit East Lincolnshire to invest heavily in raising the profile of the great and varied offer available throughout East Lindsey to ensure the District continues to thrive and jobs can be created.

“We hope this Bank Holiday weekend is the start of what proves to be an exceptional season.”
