The organisations received the funding after Ms Atkins nominated them for their vital work to support the community during the pandemic.

Horncastle & District Scrubs have been making beautiful scrubs for key workers and NHS staff on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic, and LIVES provides an essential first response service to those in need of medical assistance and has carried out extra activities during the pandemic such as supporting the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum deliver food and medication.

The fund was established by the local electricity distributor who allocated £1,500 to each MP to put forward community groups and/or charities in their local area to help them in their work during these challenging times.

Ms Atkins said: “These organisations demonstrate the incredible community effort made by the people of Louth and Horncastle to support each other during the pandemic.

“It is important to promote the hard work of our charities in the area, whose volunteers are working tirelessly and making a real difference.

“I am delighted that these three local projects have received this funding to honour their efforts, and I encourage anyone who can to get involved in any way possible to support community groups.”
